Living on Sesame Street

Since Matt is moving out soon, now we can have nice things in the house :) We fancied up the bathroom he and Seth share with a new shower curtain and rug. About an hour after I finished in there, Seth went in and yelled, "Mommy, Wicky Rabbit will LOVE his new bathroom". I explained to him that Wicky Rabbit will be moving to his own house soon, so it is really Seth's bathroom now. He nodded, and went back about his business. About 3 hours later he went in again and yells, "Mommy, I LOVE MY new bathroom, my rug looks like Big Bird". I guess that's good?
Today our washing machine finally died, so Seth and I went to examine one at the store before we bought it online. Once we were there, he informed me that we needed to look at ALL of the washers so "we didn't miss anything". He then proceeded to open every one and inspect it, he also informed me which ones were good (the festive colored ones) and which were not (the ones that had no buttons or drawers at Seth level). Then we made a jaunt to Target to get a new rug for our bathroom, and when I asked him if he liked the snappy new red rug I picked, Seth's reply was "It's nice, it looks like Elmo, when we get home I will draw an Elmo face on it". Um, pass, but thanks! That boy!

Mom is Boring

Now that Matt has his own digs and Adam has been working closes, Mommy is not nearly exciting enough for Seth. On Sunday while Adam was at work and Matt was working on his new place, round about 4:00pm Seth said to me," Mommy, when is someone getting here?" Apparently I am no fun after a few days of mostly just mom. Thanks!

Music for Mommy & Seth

Seth and I were skipping around on You Tube, and found a video we both liked. Seth said, "Mommy, it's that guy who sings in our car, but he's with Elmo!" Good ear, kid :)

Let the Harvest Begin!

We have already had a fruitful year from the garden! We have pulled about 6 carrots, 6 strawberries, a handful of radishes and at least 20 cherry tomatoes (those are hard to count, Seth eats them right off the plant). Here is a pic of a harvest: I am especially excited that our corn has started coming up, maybe we will have better luck with it this year, last year it looked beautiful and then the Africa hot Summer started cooking it in the husks. We moved it to a less sunny spot, so maybe we will be able to eat some of it this year! Here is a pic of Seth enjoying some of the goodies!

Pillow Talk

Seth wakes up most mornings before us, and comes to get in bed and snuggle. It is a lovely way to start the day, but even more charming when it starts like this:

S: Daddy, are you feeling better?
A: Yes buddy, I'm feeling better.
S: Mommy, are you feeling better?
M: Yes Seth, I feel a little better.
S: I'm glad, I'm feeling very good today. (Pause) I love you, I love Mommy and Daddy in my heart, in my rainbow colored heart.

sigh :)

So not fun

So, you know that feeling when your head aches and there is so much pressure in your head you think your eyes might actually bulge out and you will forever look like Roger Rabbit? Yeah, that's where I'm at.

Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny came and left Seth all kinds of goodies. Seth noticed that the Easter Bunny shops at the same grocery store that we do, what are the odds? All of the hidden eggs were found, and by 9am sugar induced laps were being run. We figure we have 3 hours before a total sugar coma kicks in and either Seth crashes or has a meltdown. Lets hope for the former, but totally anticipate the latter. Here is a video of the egg hunt and treat eating. Hope everyone had a happy bunny day!

Oh Snap

Does it make you a bad mom if you laugh like hell when your 4 year old runs smack into a sliding glass door at 6am?

Spring Is In The Air

While Seth is on Spring Break we have visited the beach and Kennedy Space Center, and last night we "camped" in the backyard (okay, so we toasted marshmallows and slept in the tent, then came inside to pee and drink coffee). This morning we worked on the garden, and finished our planting for this year. We have 15 strawberries, an arugala, a cauliflower, some sweet corn, a cherry tomato, radishes, carrots, a muscadine grape, a cantelope and a watermelon. All of our herbs from last year are still with us (mint, chives, parsley), so we are looking at a good harvest this year! Seth's pear tree has started sprouting flowers for the first time since we planted it when he was born, our magnolia that we planted last year has 2 flowers already (see above for the first bloom of the year), and our grapefruit and lime trees are looking lovely! When we start to sprout goodies I will post some pics, can't wait!
