Warped Tour 2012

We had a blast at Warped, it was def a bit cooler than last year! Here are a few pics:

The Big Board:
Tonight Alive:
Polar Bear Club:
Ballyhoo!:
Amyst:
Lostprophets:I Fight Dragons:
The Constellations:Stepdad:
The Silver Comet:

All the bands were pretty dope, we were super stoked to see I Fight Dragons and Stepdad, and they did not disappoint, Midwest represent :)! Sleeping With Sirens had a ridiculous crowd, I felt like I was at a NKOTB show back in the day, for all the giggly girl screams, but they were pretty good as well. Even Falling In Reverse, who totally needs to give Motley Crue their schtick back, were not too bad. The Silver Comet and Lostprophets were the breakouts for us, didn't know a whole lot about them before the show, but def gonna listen to more from them, check them out!

A Learning Moment with Family Force 5

The acoustic version of "Love Addict" came on in the car on the way to school this morning, and Seth informed me, "This is the second version of this song, the first one is much louder at the beginning." I agreed that was the case, and told him that was because this was the acoustic version. We then had a spirited discussion about the difference between an acoustic and electric guitar, and why bands release different versions of songs. Thank you for a teaching moment, Family Force 5 :)

Dear Escape The Fate:

Loved the show this week at House of Blues, but Motley Crue called circa 1986, they want their whole look back. On a different note, Attack Attack!, The Word Alive and Mest were DOPE! Gotta love the boys repping South Side of Chicago. House of Blues was super serial about this one, even got a pat down at the door. Check out some video, courtesy of lovehatetragedy777

Glamour Kills was Pretty Cool!

The Glamour Kills show was pretty good, but holy crap are kids stupid!  There are about 15 signs at the Social that all say if you stage dive, we will kick your ass out.  During the first band no less than 5 kids were stage diving, and all of them were escorted out.  The roadies for the Wonder Years came out and were pushing them back into the crowd to keep them off the stage, and then someone came on stage between The Story So Far & A Loss For Words and told them, stop that retards.  And damn if they didn't just keep it up!  I saw a comment on YouTube that one of them broke their arm.  I have never seen that many people get thrown out of a concert who appeared to be fully sober.

All the bands were pretty good (sold out show), especially Polar Bear Club, A Loss for Words and The Wonder Years.  Super stoked to see ALFW and PBC at Warped this year!  A kid that was crowd surfing kicked the singer for The Wonder Years in the head as he came out of the crowd, and he took it like a champ.  Apparently that is a benefit of being straight edge, when some idiot kicks you in the head, you don't black out, you can keep singing!

Any who, check out this video of The Wonder Years doing "Washington Square", compliments of jasonmfzb.
