Attack Raccoon!!

Holy crap, Adam was attacked by a raccoon in our driveway!  He took Brooks out last night, and a GIANT monster raccoon attacked him!  After a 2 hour stint in the hospital, and a tetanus and rabies shot, he is good to go, but good grief, a raccoon?!

We had a great time at another Track Shack Celebration of Running Event.  Seth did a great job, and we met up with Michelle as well!

Another Fishstock 5k Down!

Memorial Day Weekend at NSB means the Fishstock 5k!  Adam and I ran it again this year, thankful they made it a bit earlier this time!  I finished with a time of 31:18:62, 11 out of 30 in my age group, Adam finished 36:11:58. 17 out of 19 in his age group.

Seth ran the kids race and had a great time too!
High Fiving it all the way in, repping Track Shack in his COR shirt!

Cocoa Beach 10k Down!

Had a great Mother's Day morning today running the USA Beach Running Championships at Cocoa Beach.  Adam, Michelle and I did the 10k, but we ran (not really!) into Rich Garand who did the half.  It was hot, but a mimosa at the end makes a everything fine!

Holy Shit, We Ran A Marathon!!

Adam and I are official marathon finishers!  We ran the Walt Disney World Marathon (yep, all 26.2 miles of it!) on Sunday, and are super happy to say we survived!  It was really neat running through all 4 Disney Parks, as well as the Richard Petty track and all the fields at Wide World of Sports.  I finished with a time of 6:11:38, Adam finished with a time of 6:42:07.  There were over 26,000 runners that started the race, but only 19,970 finishers.  I finished 13,572 and Adam finished 16,445, so totally not even last!!  We are both pretty sore, but really surprised how good we feel, overall.
Here we go!

Smiling on the course is always good!
Am I almost done?

Hey!  This could possibly be the best day ever!
26.2 miles in those ears!

Crossing the Finish Line!
Look at those medals!
You sure did!

Me too!

Sweet Sundae!

Our Sundae 5k in New Smyrna Beach was sweet indeed!  Sadly, Michelle, Jules and Cole were not able to join us as planned, but we soldiered on!  Dad used Jules' number and walked the race, his very first 5k!  Seth did this one solo, and without Adam and I to urge him along, he was slower than molasses, but he finished under his own power so all ended well.  While Seth had his ice cream after the race, none of the rest of us were up to that, so we took the voucher to come back later in the afternoon and had our yummies then.  Our finish times were pretty good considering Adam and I ran the 4 miles to the race, and by the time we started the actual race, it was well into the 80's!  Out of 409 total runners, our times were:
Adam - 35:55 - 201, Mellissa - 35:08 - 191, Seth - 55:34 - 380, and Dad - 50:50 - 346.  Here are a few pics:
